Ive been wondering since the 80's about the sound of that track. It sounds so crispy and raw. How did he do that?????

loads of highs i guess, and overdrive too. if ur asking about the main sound manipulation, he's doing that using the release knob of the amp on his synth...

Anyone got a clue?? GREAT QUESTION!
I'm not sure what the ER-ER-ER-ER Sound is. I do recall hearing that SHHHHH-SHHHHH-SHHHH! sound coming from this little efx thing that a lot of reggae DJ's would use. It was like a Laser gun sound.
Then again I could be wrong. graemlins/conf44.gif
Anyone have any idea???? Louis, where are you??? graemlins/conf44.gif

But the PSSSJJJPSJJJJJJJ part,,, where the drums get all metallic and shit, sounds like FM synthesis, Maybe its the Casio cz synth.
I hope there are more poeple who have some thoughts on this one.

The dx100 is an FM synth, i think he used it for Wargames.

the CZ series are no drumcomputers,, those are synthesizers. They are cheap nowadays, i might just buy one. They go around for $100
