SONAR KOLLEKTIV / WARM - AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL
SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST @ MEDICINE, SHOREDITCH, LONDON
Tonight we celebrate carnival weekend with a monster line up. The superb Domu AKA Umod joins two superb talents from the USA in the basement. Flown in for an exclusive London date are Titonton Duvante and Capitol A. The lounge is home to the warm residents alongside the mad hatters themselves Red Nose Distrikt direct from Amsterdam.
BASEMENT: TITONTON DUVANTE (RESIDUAL), DOMU (SONAR KOLLEKTIV) + CAPITOL A (MANTIS/2000 BLACK/SONAR KOLLEKTIV)
Titonton Duvanté, has played throughout the world and has gained notoriety as a recording artist releasing music on numerous labels such as: Palette, Central, Planet E, Phono/Environ, Multiplex, Metamorphic, 2000 Black and Transfigure to name a few. 2004 marks a big year for Titonton as he is gearing up to release an entire arsenal of new tracks on the following labels: Visions, Archive/Neroli, Sonar Kollektiv and Rush-hour as well as a brand new mix CD for Ramp Recordings. Tonight he will be making a very rare London performance.
Joining Titonton in the basement for an exclusive UK performance will be Capitol A. Having worked with artists such as The Roots, Jazzanova, Bebel Gilberto, King Britt, Suzanne Vega and 4Hero he is currently working on his own album. Beyond this he is still a member of King Britt’s “SYLK 130 Band“ and can be seen around the globe as a DJ spinning at some of the hottest venues. His sets have been described as a “ MUST SEE/ HEAR “ experience and with residencies in Vancouver, Philly (Silk City Club with DJ Dozia & King Britt) and in San Francisco his expertise as a ‘Wax Specialist’ is well respected by some of dance music’s elite DJ’s. And if as that’s not enough, Capitol A will be getting on the mic to treat us to a Live PA!!!!
The familiar face of Domu AKA Umod, a regular at Plastic People for the legendary Co-op nights and at guest spots around Europe, will complete the basement line up. His musical productions as well as his DJing have never stood still. He leads the broken beat/ nu jazz scene, recognised by a brand new LP on Sonar Kollektiv under his Umod guise in 2004 and his continued work with labels such as Archive and 2000 Black.

Red Nose Distrikt conjure up the most amazing broken beat sounds this side of the North Sea, putting out records on a string of labels such as Rush Hour and Kindred Spirits. Their records have been acclaimed by such stars of the nu-jazz and broken beat scene as Gilles Peterson, Dego, Volcov, Recloose, Jazzanova and many more. Joining Red Nose tonight will be the superb warm residents Ali Tillett, Sean Brosnan, Rob Summerhayes and Hiryze.
