from this saturday (20-7)i will be staying for 5 days in Paris......can anyone hook me up with interesting musical spots/events? my preferences are soulfull vocal house/us garage, broken jazzed up beats etc, you know the score....

being an ex parisian I can help I guess..

go for Batofar definitly although the programme is quite eclectic some find out on the listings first as it can go from anything germanic experimental beats to the deepest soulful grooves you are after

try also Glaz'art . but same thing check the vibe out on listings before. they have decent afro nights once a month on saturdays.

also, Nouveau Casino in the Oberkampf district is a delightful nightclub

apart from that, paris is a bit of a nightclubbing disaster, with on one hand, all the boho slick crowds going to shitty places like buddha bar or barramundi listening to shitty loungecore music, and on the other hand, disco-filtered 4 on the floor house music everywhere around la Bastille and Oberkampf...
