VOICES present a much anticipated appearance by London's underground music don SEAN P (Better Days/BBE/Strut) on THURSDAY 27th MAY.
A compulsive collector of music since the end of the '70s, Sean played his first gig in London in '86. The following year he found another outlet via a radio show on London's then pirate Kiss FM alongside close friend Dave Lee aka Joey Negro.
Sean P's Better Days label is one of the most sought-after & longer-running disco edits labels - his tape reel experiments having begun in the '80s. His (co-)compiling (again with Dave Lee) and sleeve-note anotations ensured the quality and popularity of the 'Disco Spectrum' and 'Disco, Not Disco' series on BBE and Strut, as well as 'Cosmic Fusion and Interstellar Jazz' for Harmless Records and many more besides.
Sean P's musical knowledge is described as encyclopedic and that's no joke - the way this will impress on you is in the selections which will keep you on your toes in all senses - from irresistible first-time-heard rare records, to (versions of) those classics we know, via special remixes/edits, with Voices residents framing the experience on our way from 10 til 2...
Raise your Voices to bring on Better Days for London's discerning Thursday night dancers!
peace
RMR/Alex/Cedric
----
NYC/BERLIN DJ, producer and party-hearty spirit DANIEL WANG (Balihu) shook up the club with those hot disco selections, before shaking the tambourine and tearing up his own space on the floor after Voices DJs took over to round it up, as we do... thanks to the many who made it down to dance like it was the weekend, extra points to Danny though for his cowbell strut ; )
