The Dharma I could understand when you say it might be overpriced since the bidding starts at $20. But the Booker T. 12" is only $3.99 and the brenda Taylor is only $6. That's very reasonable and way less than what I paid for the same records.

Hi Cosmic Twin,

Thanks.Sorry if your feeling some are overpriced. To answer you question, all rare used vinyl which is up for sale on the site,is in very good/mint condition. You will never find anything on the site, that has any ticks, hisses, scratches, skips,or anything of the like.If its not in very good/mint condition, you wont find it on the site.Ofcourse, all vinyl are original copies,You can hear snippits of titles,by clicking on the real player symbol next to applicable title. If you'd like to a see copy of the actual record label, just click on the image icon, next to the applicaple title.Anything ordered from the site,is shipped same day as purchase.

It's all good. You have some nice stuff up. $20 for Dharma? Actually, that is not too bad. It sells between $20 and $30 usually, plus it's an original pressing. Good luck on your auctions.

Hi Mickey,

website address is www.vjsproductionsinc.com (http://www.vjsproductionsinc.com)
just to be sure you have correct address. When you get to the site,on the right hand side of the screen, there is a category named "Tapes".Click there and you'll be able to see/hear our tapes.
I also had trouble seeing the site on one computer that I was using yesterday. Not sure why the problem occured with that computer, though on all the other computers I used,I had no problems at all.
Can you possibly try another computer ?

The way he brings Mr Fingers "Can YOu Feel It" in on the second part of the tape is just TOOOOOO much.

I had no clue it was you hiding behind that pseudonym..

You've got some bad ass records on your website ! I listend to all the snippets yesterday..That took me some time.. Unfortunately, they are a bit out of my league , financially speaking..

Good luck ..

That Tony Humphries mix is soooooooooo tight!
The way he brings Mr Fingers "Can YOu Feel It" in on the second part of the tape is just TOOOOOO much.

Peace,

Gerd

I'm so happy to be able to finally share this Tony Humphries tape. This particualr tape, has been an inspiration to numerous productions of mine, over the last 14 years.Actually on the subject of Tony,I probably would'ent have gotten very far,if it was'nt for him. When no one had the time or day for me,He did. There was no place like Zanzibar for me.It was when Tony started playing my tracks, that others took notice to them.He really could care (and I'm sure still could care)less about politics, who we knew,or any of business BS.He has always just been about the music for me. I'll work on getting some more of Tony's tapes, which have changed my life,up in the coming months.

That is one of the best Tony mixes I have come acroos on the internet. And A1 sound quality.
Tony H. must be the person who can be found the most in the "Thanks" section on record labels. HE seems to have put so much people on the map that it's almost unreal.

He GJ,

You are so right. He is so open and giving.
If the material he received (recieves) is from someone thats been in the business for years,or from someone who's just getting started,I dont believe it makes a difference to him.I'd say,Its just all about Music he's feeling. His style, and ways are a great example for all.Politics and Music have no business knowing eachother, and for me Tony represents this.
Regarding the particular tape your referring to,all Chicago people, who listen, can get an idea of what an influence Chicago had on NY at the time.In 86/87 Chicago put new life into the NY dance scene.Everything,at the time, seemed to be Chicago imports in NY.It was'nt untill Todd T,came with his material, that some new New York talent started to blossom again. But all on this board know this story better than me.Once again, back to the tape,It was recorded on a Metal tape, which I think has helped with the quality, after all this time.

-G </font>[/QUOTE]Hi G Man,

Yes,Roy Thode later played at the Saint (80's),and yes,I have some of his Saint tapes as well. His beginnings we're on Fire Island.
He was resident at the Ice Palace on Fire Island, though guessed at many other clubs on the Island as well as in the city. You may recall a Studio 54 double pack album released in 1978,one of the first fully mixed by a dj (no pauses between tracks),albums to be released (released on Vinyl only ofcourse).Studio 54 is written on the cover, and on the inlay layout, are photos from inside the club.Roy is responsbible for mixing this album, and he is credited as doing so,on the back cover.Do you remember Larry Levans first credited record "C Is For Cookie" ?Well,Roy was the other who did a mix of this (not sure if Roys mix was released),though I have a copy on tape."Come On And Do It" was one of Roys better known mixes.Though These are only some of many of his works. In the 70's and early 80's he was very active and well known in the industry.

Good article but no mention in there about the first host of Soul Train when it was on channel 26 in Chicago. It was not Don Cornelius. This had to be around 1970??.

there is a "Disco History" article on website written a few months before Studio 54 opened.I
found reading an article on the History, written at that moment in time (before the big Disco hype explosion even happened),to be very untainted. It speaks of many people and places not known by many in the scene today.

link is :

or you can just go to the site www.vjsproductionsinc.com (http://www.vjsproductionsinc.com)
click on area 2 (bottom left),and then scroll down to "souvenirs".Click on "Souvenirs",and then "Disco History".
