Consisting of the big tribal club room foot stomper title track ‘Unfinished Business’, the percussion driven and big beats that protrude gleefully on ‘Keep It Movin’, the enchanting soothing poetics from Tim ‘M West and tribal techno soul of ‘Getaway’ rounded off by the warm key chords and tech house melodies a la the sounds of Chicago house on ‘Right Beside You’ presents this collection as an outstanding citadel of tracks worthy of your listening pleasure – not a statement but already a fact. Welcome onto the scene Gavin Peters and Sy Sez; a DJ/production house making a huge impression with clubbers and DJ’s alike for their quality releases fusing styles of deep house, soulful, tech and broken beat music. Known as AphroDisiax this west London based team which includes saxophonist and keys player Arise have found recent success remixing the major broken beat club banger ‘Russellology’ by the Flowriders in Autumn of ’08. They guys also joined forces with NYC’s DJ Romanin to offload a collectable four tracks for his Nu Faze recordings label, plus they’ve a couple of release to follow this spring on the formidable Soul Heaven records.
In the meantime, this April 2009 sees them offer up their debut ‘Unfinished Business’ EP for Sheffield’s Jus House records home to label mates Grand High Priest, Simbad, Pete Simpson, Mike ‘God Made Me Funky’ Dunn, Restless Soul’s Jose Carretas, broken beat kid Danny Native (Altered Natives) and spoken word poet Tim’m. Already grabbing the attention of many a DJ enquires the AphroDisiax clearly know how to get the right reactions on dance floors bearing in mind both Peters & Sez are DJ’s in their own right having played at many of the capitol’s top club spots including Ministry of Sound, Matter, SeOne as well as hosting their own monthly night Not For Squares in Brixton’s Plan B. The new ‘Unfinished Business’ EP is set to make its mark up down the clubs and with support from the airwaves far and wide expect to be hearing about even more aurally tantalising sounds from the team that is AphroDisiax very soon.
The Jus’ House label continues to gain momentum in success into 2009. Releasing the best in deep, tech and soulful house music in both vinyl and digital downloads from Jose Carretas (Restless Soul) and Chicago’s Grand High Priest already setting the standard. The label's third instalment comes from London based soulful house crew AphroDisiax with their ‘Unfinished Business’ EP due this April 2009.
