Billie Jewell on Behalf of Studio Confession

DHP
Before you right off this post please hear me out don't shoot the messenger.
To get respect you must show respect. People’s expectations of the treatment they receive should be based on what they put out into the world.
On a page where people were praising Peven’s product Party of the Year
the compilation, Jamie 3:26 pops in with well I bought a blank cd from him so I don’t buy cd’s off of Peven anymore….
This is the same person who is distributing illegal edits of Peven’s music

See below

Mark Mendoza presents "The Phuture Sole Session" (CyberJamz February 2, 2009 show)

http://cyberjamz.com/stream.php?fid=...a_02-02-09.wma (link to archive is server is not busy)

and link to get the mp3...

http://www.phuturesolerecordings.com...a_02-02-09.mp3

1st Half - Mark Mendoza

01. Gift Of Love - Kool & The Gang
02. Rock The House (Loop) - Pressure Drop
03. Rock The House - The B Boys
04. Rock The House (Part 2) - Mr. K
05. The Ritual - Justin Imperiale
06. Deep House Meditation (Aakmael Mix) - Soul Oasis feat. Weysa Dya
07. Wind (Dub 2) - Ricone
08. Shake It Up - Rod
09. Money (King Britt Remix) - Zaki Ibrahim
10. Trust Yourself (280 West Club Mix) - Mentalinstrum feat. Giant Storm
11. Listen (Just Listen) (Louie's Master Mix) - Urban Species
12. First Kiss (Celestial Reprise Dub 2) - Vick Lavender feat. Carla Prather
13. Jungle Roll (Cratebug Remix 2) - James Brown & The Ohio Players
14. Special (Jamie 326 Edit) - Peven Everett
15. Valentine 4 Life (Guy Robin Vocal Mix) - Kim Davis
16. Boardlords (Sydney & Klod Rights Remix) - Sebastian Davidson
17. Samson & Delilah (BSC Classic Mix) - Stereo Mutants feat. Neve
18. Efrat - Shlomi Aber
19. Shock The Monkey - Peter Gabriel
20. Mercy (Laid Instrumental Mix) - Laid

2nd Half - Carl Dupree

21. Inspiration (Original Vocal Mix) - Arnold Jarvis & Kerri Chandler
22. "A whole lotta goodies + some tag teaming"

Unfortunately Special came out on vinyl at the beginning of April 09.
The only other way it could be purchased was either on cd or mp3.
Also unfortunately I cannot locate a receipt after going through all of my receipts with any male from Chicago for that tune.
Which means either it was in fact bought on cd or acquired in a five fingered manner or passed down.

How does one expect an artist to continue bringing out music if number one they are not willing to buy it and number two they are not willing to respect the manner in which that artist planned to use their music.

If this said DL was a gift then it came with the following legal notice

Legal Notice
All Works On Peven Everett’s Studio Confession Ent nimbit. are copy written and protected by The Digital Millennium Copyright Act and International Copyright Law.
Bootleggers beware each infraction carries a possible 100,000 dollar fine and the Federal Bureau of Investigations will be notified.

So in turn as the Vice President of the company that Peven has created I called smack talking smack talking.
Unfortunately in this world some individuals would rather just get behind someone they know rather than get behind the truth.

As I have been around Peven 10 years and have scene the lack of professionalism he has been treated with it is very frustrating to see.

I was addressing certain people. Yes his fans could see what is happening to someone who mutually cares for them as they do him.

Instead of getting behind Peven what has happened is there is a backlash regarding people who hang out and drink liquor together.
There is no motive only rebuttel in what I had said.
Many people chose to chime in without the proper knowledge of what has happened and or not having read the post from page one.

I have also stated numerous times on the convo in question that I respect people’s feelings and I respect Peven’s fans.
What I do not respect are people who either a. steal music from an independent artist or b. slander their business practice when they are trying new formats with trial and error. This is what happens when people venture out solo. This is why I have so much respect for Peven’s fans as they take in all the good and sometimes as a human the occasional mistake.
If you didn’t steal and you didn’t cheat him it’s of no consequence to you.
I meant no harm to anyone really.
I just have the right to challenge someone who thinks there is a blind eye with respects to what they are saying as maybe they will think about what they say in the future.
Maybe they will think about what they remix in the future.

Please don’t be sore at me I was doing my job.
For any innocent bystanders that were offended I apologize to you.
Further more there are all kinds of ways to contact Peven regarding business ventures.
If you use the proper channels then there really wouldn’t be any beef.
There have been a lot of comments made about Peven’s disliking dj’s.
That’s not true. Peven like anyone doesn’t like being ripped off.
If I stole a man’s play book and called it my game who can predict the outcome.
In terms of Peven’s attendance record well I have seen him miss one gig due to a car accident that one of his musicians was in and he missed one because he had to go to the hospital.

Other than that Peven has never missed a show in 22 years not a bad track record.
Especially when you consider that the major label artists are canceling entire tours.
At least Peven gives a reschedule option.
Please forgive any mis-pellings that you may encounter I have not been feeling well
And this is time consuming,

This is my last attempt to explain things and I really don’t have the energy to continue.

So to everyone I will see you around because I am not going anywhere.
I will continue to fight for Peven’s copyrights as they are his rights and I am an officer of his company.
If I can’t find you anywhere else that means I have to do it in front of everyone.

Obviously this doesn’t apply to live mixing it applies to recording and distributing like the infringement above.
Artists are supposed to get royalties when their songs are played in clubs this is why the Note or Flat Iron or whatever the hell has a jukebox now from what I understand. Other countries do abide by this I get the paperwork. America is always trying to bring the random guy down with their corporate sensibility. So that the American Dream so to speak is limited to only a certain few. Which I would think nobody would understand better than the people on this page.
On that fight the good fight and be easy
Miss Jewell

If you were his VP and so important you would know that this is an outright lie...you should be ashamed of yourself, coming across the way you do.

I'd logout and delete your account as each and every post you make is a shocker.

End.

Billie,

I write this to you to express my thoughts on the matter. I am first and foremost a music lover, consumer and have been a DJ and music collector since 1985. I share the same interests as many in this community of thousands upon thousands, which many happen to be supporters of Peven's music.

I have no problems telling you that I will no longer support the works of Mr. Everett due to your unprofessionalism displayed on this board. I will not spend my money where it is not appreciated. You have done a great disservice to your boss and opened our eyes as to how you feel about our community. You easily could have shown tact by addressing these sensitive matters privately but, decided to show your ass to the world.

You, singlehandedly, have made this an epic thread which shall haunt Mr. Everett for quite some time.

Congratulations.

Tim Martinez

The saga continues..............wtf

she really needs to just STFU and let it go, this is expressly why you need PROFESSIONAL PR people in your camp, she won't let this shit go, she won't have a convo with the DJ she is speaking of in PRIVATE where the shit belongs, she just doesn't get it.......

PE will suffer because of the arrogance and ignorance the both of you have displayed.....

Jocks have a ton of power, you still trippin on some bullshit aobut how dude copped the joint, you have no idea how much money is spent on music by dj's on this site and yet you continue to trip on a funky ass edit that was made of a song that was not for sale only promotional use by other dj's, JUST LET THE SHIT GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deep Hate Page
Deephousepage.com
The people who actually participate meaning add entries on the forums well at least 90 percent are the most petty, ingnorant, piece of shit ass marks I have ever witnessed. And I grew up around republicans.
They cannot handle the confrontation that arises when someone asks them to stop pirating music even if you start out nice about it.
I AM ASHAMED TO HAVE CALLED MYSELF A PART OF THE DANCE MUSIC SCENE HERE.
I have done nothing but supported this scene for years and now the love that I have for it is gone.
I have a DJ non shitlist that I am comprising for those in and out of town.
The people listed are all good people that generally have drama free parties that are really fun.
For all you aspiring dj's keep a couple of things in mind.
IT IS NEVER OK TO ALTER MUSIC YOU DIDN'T MAKE YOURSELF WITHOUT THE CONSENT AND COMPENSATION TO THE ARTIST

Well when you can't get a hold of people and they are doing something that is hurting someone then you do what you can.
You can't treat someone who is unprofessional professionally especially when you don't know where they are.
If you don't support Peven then you don't and not supporting him because I busted somebody out for stealin on his tunes is up to you.
How bout not supporting Jamie for messing with Peven's copyrights and not establishing a professional relationship with him and even just on a man to man level.
This is not and never was an attack on the dj community as a whole it is just bringing to light that people who take advantage shouldn't be talkin mess.
Im truly sorry you feel this way.
Peace

yep, I'm pretty sure the people who were very excited to see Peven in London a while back can testify to that being bullshit.

I was one of the people giving Peven exposure in another country. no more.

Professionalism is standard practice, part of your core values and character. Once that is compromised, your product will never have the same value to me, no matter how good you think it is.

Should I not have said "SIMMER", I don't want to get sued...........da hell

I have received emails from some of the very people that have posted negative comments on these threads in our business inbox.
In the interest of not busting out people for the wrong reason all I am going to say is they said you all were A**holes including them really....Not my words
IF you want it to stop don't respond just read it or don't.
It was meant as an open letter but obviously everyone thinks the intent behind what is said is evil.
Peven's business getting attacked by somebody who has clearly distributed a song is NOT COOL and if it was happening to you it would piss you off
So just leave it alone.

It would behoove you to leave this matter alone. If you have'nt figured this out by now, you have really damaged your credibility and are continuing to fuck things up for Mr. Everett's future sales.

PLEASE, no more postings on the matter unless you are masochistic and want the bullshit to continue.

With your every post you are setting PE back further and further, you use words like steal and sue as if someone has taken the material and re-pressed it for compensation, if a dj purchases music and decides to tweak it a bit to make it more dj friendly relative to blending and such, why would an artist have a problem with that???????

There have been polished artists who have spoken to this very subject on the other thread who relish the opportunity to see what someone else has done with their work and embraces it........

The thing you and PE don't realize is that Chicago cats were the ones spearheading campaigns to NOT remix PE's work with mashups and such and out of the respect that we have it wasn't done.........

Now you done came on this page and gushed cyber spit in our faces and it's gonna be a long time before you hear a PE joint at a meaningful party in da Chi.....trusts

PE couldn't GIVE that unreleashed shit away now because of the damage that has been done.........

Dude. This is Peven speaking: Copyright laws were not written by me or Billie Jewell. To say the least. It's way too hot for a circumstance so easy to fix.
I DON'T KNOW JAMIE 3:26! Business withes or personally. I can't hate him. For what? I DON'T KNOW HIM. I got a call yesterday from one of his guys saying he was trying to reach me . My business manager told me. He and I should be speaking soon as far as I know.

Yo, this should have been dealt with in an entirely different fashion, regardless of your position on the issue, severe damage has been caused relative to the way jocks view you, and if it doesn't mean anything to ya now, it may down the line.......

I'm not speaking for nor apologizing for anybody, but I know that this could have been handled by you and your camp a lot better than this.......

Please don't play with such a delicate subject. It's insensitive and if you really knew what those close to me know. You wouldn't say that. Stop. It's not the direction you should go in. If you would like to know more about my stomach condition it's a combination of 2 scenarios. I have G.E.R.D and bleeding ulcers. America does not have free health care. Music is my health care. Nice statement.

DJS. PICTURE THIS....THE ARTIST OR BAND YOU REALLY REALLY DIG ALLOWS YOU ACCESS TO REMIX THEIR ALBUM. BETTER YET . THEIR ENTIRE CATALOG JUST BECAUSE YOU BUILT THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM. HOW? BY REACHING OUT TO THE ARTIST WHO HAS THAT SOUND. YOU NOW ARE THE ONLY DJ ON THE PLANET WITH THAT ACCESS. IF YOU PICK THE RIGHT ARTIST/BAND THE PARTY WILL FOLLOW YOU AND YOU GET THE RESPECT THAT YOU CRAVE & YOUR CRAFT BRINGS. PEOPLE WILL COME SEE YOU NOW BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONLY DJ THAT HAS IT....... WHY WOULD YOU KEEP THE WORLD FROM FLYING TO SEE YOU FOR A CHANGE? THAT'S SURE MONEY FOREVER WITHOUT ASKIN' OR WORRYING ABOUT NOTHIN' AND BOTH SIDES HAVE FUTURES THAT ARE AS SURE AS THE SON RISING. THE MUSICIAN/PRODUCER WANTS THE MUSIC PLAYED AND A SECURE FUTURE. SO DOES THE DJ$$$$$$$$$CHUCH!!!!!!!

I'm not responsible for the copyright laws that were written. I wasn't there either. As far as damage goes. The male ego is repairable. Embarrassment is also but, it takes a lil more time and effort. You are one of the few who actually stuck to the subject matter. I don't have enemies I have haters.
There is a difference. You feel me? Nobody's perfect dude and both sides have been getting support. If a person is innocent they say so. They scream it as loud as they can. You personally have to talk with me offline in order to say with fair ideal what kind of man I am. This conversation between me and you should now be a private one. I am not what anyone says about me no matter how many times he or she says it. If they have not spoken to me at my house or on my phone they don't know me. I'm too busy making all of the music you've heard thus far. Not a big deal. Tell Rahaan , if you will , that I said was up. Peace.
